Crucial Hemp was started in Tucson Arizona in 1991 when grassroots hemp activists were influenced by Jack Herer's book "The Emperor Wears No Clothes". We purchased some of the first 100% hemp fabric to be imported to the United States since hemp prohibition was declared in 1937. 
Using antique, foot powered, sewing machines the first product line was dubbed "Ashes and Dust". In 1993 a tailor, design team and a seamstress collaborated and purchased some industrial equipment and the business became Crucial Creations. Crucial Creations was a charter member of the Hemp Industries Association (thehia.org) formed in 1994. In the late 90's the name was changed to Crucial Hemp. After several world tours and awards for products, including a High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, history continues to be made.
